SWEET RIDE THURSDAY NIGHT GRAVEL RIDES start June 4th at 6:30pm
Starting Thursday, June 4th we will host our weekly gravel rides departing from Mahone Bay at 6:30pm to roughly 8:30 pm. All rides will be approximately 90+ minutes in duration depending on individual speed and will have some level of mixed surface (pavement, good gravel, rough gravel) depending on the route. We will post details of each week’s route a few days in advance. Watch our facebook and instagram posts weekly for route details. A gravel bike with a minimum of 38mm tires or a Mountain bike would be recommended for these rides. Here is a preliminary schedule of routes for June. Meet at the public parking lot on Clairmont Street, behind the Pharmacy a few minutes before-hand for 6:30pm departure.
June 4th: Dorey Mills Loop, 30+Km, rough/chunky gravel (min 38mm+ tires or MTB)
June 11th: Sweetland Beach/Mush-a-mush, 30+ km, smooth”ish” gravel (38mm)
June 18th: Big Lots Loop, 30+km, rough/chunky gravel (Min 38mm+ tires or MTB)
June 25th: Mountain Bike Ride – route to be confirmed.
Don’t forget the MEDWAY GRAVEL RIDE, Sunday, June 7th, 11am (Departing Base Camp, Kempt, Annapolis County)
Co-hosted by the Medway Community Forest Cooperative and Sweet Ride Cycling, this ride will explore forest roads that border Queen’s and Annapolis Counties through some of the forests managed by MCFC on rolling, good gravel roads.
